Welcome Home

SURFSIDE BEACH, SOUTH CAROLINA

  • Pine Drive Reformed Gospel Church is an independent congregation of believers committed to the worship of the Triune God as revealed in the Old and New Testaments. It is the redeeming work of our Lord Jesus Christ and the application of that work to our lives by the Holy Spirit that makes our worship possible.
  • We are dedicated to the study and application of the Bible to direct us in our worship as we are continually reforming our practice as God corrects our understanding.
  • We view the Reformed or Calvinistic confessions such as The Westminster Confession of Faith, the 1646 London Baptist Confession of Faith, the 1689 London Baptist Confession of Faith, and The Philadelphia Confession of Faith as essentially accurate summaries of the Bible's teachings while still subordinate to Scripture which is our ultimate authority.
  • We acknowledge ourselves as part of the universal church, but we remain an independent congregation, under the Lordship of Jesus Christ, accountable to both God and to one another.

What We Believe image
  • We believe that the Bible, consisting of the Old and New Testaments written under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit is the Word of God, that it is without error and has supreme authority in all matters of faith and practice. (II Timothy 3:16; II Peter 1:20,21; Acts 20:32)
  • We believe there is one and only one living and true God, who is triune, existing eternally in three persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. (Genesis 1:1,26; John 1:1,14; Matthew 28:19; Ephesians 4:5-6; I John 5:7 KJV)
  • We believe that man was created by God in His own image; that man of his own free choosing sinned and as a consequence incurred spiritual, physical, and eternal death; that as a result of man’s original sin all human beings are born sinful, are sinners by choice, under just condemnation, and totally unable to save themselves. (Genesis 1:26; Genesis 3; Genesis 2:17; Genesis 3:19; Romans 5:12; Romans 6:23; Matthew 25:44,46; II Thessalonians 1:8-9; Job 14:4; Psalms 51:5; Romans 8:5-7; I Corinthians 2:14; Ephesians 2:1-3; John 3:3-8)
  • We believe that salvation is by God alone, as he sovereignly chooses those He will save. We believe God’s choice is on the basis of His grace and not on foreseen faith or any human merit. (John 6:44,45; Romans 8:29-30, 9:15-16, 18; Ephesians 1:3-6, 2:8-10; II Timothy 1:9)
  • We believe that the salvation of sinners is effected through the person and work of the Lord Jesus Christ, the eternal Son of God, who took upon Himself human nature, was sinless in birth and life and through His sinless life, substitutionary death, physical resurrection/ascension and perpetual intercession obtained salvation for all whom God sovereignly chose to be saved. (Matthew 1:18-25; Luke 1:26-38; John 1:1,14; Romans 9:5; I Timothy 3:16; Hebrews 4:15; II Corinthians 5:21; Matthew 5:17; Romans 10:4; I Corinthians 1:30; I Peter 2:21-24, 3:18; Hebrews 9:28; Romans 5:6-10; I Corinthians 15:1-3; Romans 3:25, 8:34; Hebrews 7:25)
  • We believe that the person and work of the Holy Spirit is necessary in the application of salvation to sinners. The normal work of the Holy Spirit in the application of salvation to the sinner consists in indwelling, regeneration, new birth, repentance, faith, sanctification (fruit and gifts of the spirit), and glorification. (John 14:16-17; I Corinthians 6:19; Romans 8:9; Titus 3:5; John 3:3-8, 16:7-8; Galatians 5:22-26; I Corinthians 12:1-11, 28; John 14:26, 16:13; Romans 8:11,14)
  • We believe in the universal church; a spiritual body of which Christ is the head and all regenerated persons are members. We believe in the local church composed of believers in the Lord Jesus Christ associated together for worship in which the gospel is preached, the sacraments of baptism and the Lord’s Supper are administered, and spiritual discipline is exercised. (Matthew 16:18; Ephesians 2:19-22; I Corinthians 1:2; Galatians 1:2; Hebrews 10:23-25; Acts 2:41-42; I Corinthians 11:23-29; Matthew 18:15-20; I Corinthians 5)
  • We believe that all aspects of our lives are to be lived to the glory of God; that we are to seek the extension of the kingdom of God into all the world and in all facets of life; that we should strive to be holy and blameless in life and to live peaceable with all men; that we should seek to grow to full maturity in Christ. (I Corinthians 10:31; Matthew 6:33, 28:18-20; Romans 1:5; Ephesians 1:4, 2:10, 4:11-16; Romans 12:1-2, 18)
  • We believe in the personal and visible return of the Lord Jesus Christ to earth; the resurrection of the body; the final judgement; and the eternal state of blessing for the redeemed and endless suffering for the wicked. (John 14:3; Acts 1:11; Philippians 3:20-21; I Thessalonians 4:13-18; I Corinthians 15; John 5:28-29; Revelation 20:11-15; Jude 6; II Thessalonians 1:7-10; Matthew 25:41, 46; Revelation 14:11)
